Slow Living at Liba Vineyard: A Cosy Woodland Glamping Staycation in Wiltshire

There’s something about a staycation that begins with leaving London on a Friday afternoon and arriving in complete silence less than two hours later that feels almost magical.

One minute you’re stuck in city traffic thinking about your overflowing inbox, and the next you’re winding through the Wiltshire countryside, surrounded by rolling fields, ancient woodland and some of the prettiest landscapes in England.

That’s exactly how our weekend at Liba Vineyard began.

Nestled amongst woodland on the edge of a young biodynamic vineyard, Liba is the kind of place that instantly forces you to slow down. Not in a dramatic wellness-retreat kind of way, but gently, naturally, without even realising it. Phones get forgotten about. Conversations become slower. Coffee lasts longer. And suddenly an evening spent lighting a fire pit and waiting for a wood-fired hot tub to heat up becomes the highlight of your week.

For anyone constantly asking us for unique UK staycations, quirky cabins or peaceful countryside escapes that still feel luxurious, this is exactly the sort of hidden gem we love discovering.

And honestly? Wiltshire deserves far more attention than it gets.

Before we properly get into the stay itself, we also wanted to introduce you to Curated Spaces Club — a platform we absolutely love for discovering beautifully designed, unique places to stay across the UK and beyond.

As tastemakers for Curated Spaces Club, we’re always on the lookout for staycation spots that feel a little different; places with character, thoughtful interiors, beautiful surroundings and experiences that genuinely help you slow down and reconnect. Liba Vineyard is exactly the kind of destination that fits perfectly within that world — peaceful, design-led, nature-focused and incredibly special.

A Luxury Glamping Pod Hidden in the Woods

Liba Vineyard’s eco-luxe glamping pods are tucked amongst the trees overlooking the vineyard and surrounding countryside. The whole place feels beautifully thought through, modern and minimal whilst still cosy and warm.

From the moment we arrived, it felt calm.

Inside, the pod had everything you’d want from luxury glamping. A fully functioning kitchen, proper bathroom with a walk-in shower, soft lighting, cosy seating areas and the kind of interiors that make you immediately want to curl up with a blanket and a glass of wine.

It’s definitely glamping rather than camping.

You still get all the nature, fresh air and outdoorsy feeling but with hot running water, a flushing toilet, luxurious bedding and a proper comfy bed waiting for you at the end of the night.

The little touches were what really made it special too. Everything felt intentional and beautifully branded, from the styling to the welcome details. There was a s’mores kit waiting for us inside the pod ready for the fire pit outside, which instantly made the whole stay feel fun, cosy and nostalgic in the best possible way.

Slow Evenings Around the Fire Pit & Hot Tub

One of our favourite parts of the stay was the wood-fired hot tub.

Unlike a standard electric hot tub where you just press a button and jump in, this one becomes part of the whole experience. You actually have to light it, keep the fire going and patiently wait while it slowly warms up over a couple of hours.

And somehow that made it even better.

We spent the evening wrapped in blankets around the fire pit with a glass of wine, adding logs to the burner, chatting and watching the light disappear through the trees.

No rushing. No plans. No screens.

Just proper slow living.

By the time the hot tub was finally ready, the sun was beginning to set and golden light beams were streaming through the woodland around us. Sitting in the warm water surrounded by trees with complete silence apart from birdsong honestly felt like therapy.

This is exactly the kind of UK staycation that reminds you how good it feels to properly switch off.

The Best Sleep & Slowest Mornings

One thing we always notice with countryside stays is how deeply you sleep, and this was no exception.

The bed was unbelievably comfortable, with soft luxurious bedding that made it very difficult to get up the next morning. Eventually though, the sound of birds outside won.

Waking up here feels incredibly peaceful.

No alarms. No traffic. Just birdsong, fresh air and morning light coming through the trees.

We made fresh coffee and spent the morning sitting outside on the cabin steps simply doing… not very much at all. Which is probably the entire point of a stay like this.

Liba Vineyard really reminded us how important it is to slow down sometimes. To have weekends that aren’t packed full of plans. To leave space for quiet mornings, long conversations and evenings around a fire.

A New Vineyard With Exciting Future Plans

One of the most interesting things about staying at Liba is that the vineyard itself is still incredibly new.

The vines were only recently planted, meaning this is very much the beginning of what feels like a really exciting long-term project.

Currently, Liba is a vineyard rather than a fully operational winery, and it’ll still take a few years before the vines mature enough to produce wine on a larger scale. But honestly, that almost makes it more special to visit now.

You feel like you’re seeing the very beginning of something.

The vineyard follows biodynamic and organic principles, working closely with nature and the surrounding landscape.   And it’s easy to imagine how incredible this place is going to become over the next few years as the vines mature and the wine production develops.

We actually spent one afternoon visiting Black Chalk Vineyard, around 20 minutes away, where we sampled some brilliant English sparkling wines. It gave us a little glimpse into the kind of wines vineyards like Liba may eventually produce in the future — crisp, fresh English sparkling wines that feel perfectly suited to this landscape.

English wine really is having such a moment right now, and it feels exciting to watch somewhere like Liba at the very start of that journey.

Why Wiltshire Is One of England’s Most Underrated Staycation Destinations

Wiltshire is one of those counties that so many people drive through on the way to somewhere else.

Cornwall. Devon. Dorset. Somerset.

But after spending a weekend here, we honestly think Wiltshire deserves to be the destination itself.

The countryside is stunning, rolling hills, ancient woodland, picturesque villages and huge open landscapes that somehow feel quieter and less touristy than other parts of the South West.

And there’s so much to do nearby.

Stonehenge

Only around 10 minutes from Liba Vineyard, Stonehenge is one of those places that feels worth visiting at least once. Seeing it in person against the huge Wiltshire skies feels surprisingly atmospheric.

Salisbury

A beautiful cathedral city filled with historic streets, cosy pubs, independent cafés and gorgeous old buildings. Perfect for a slower afternoon wandering around.

Avebury

One of our favourite spots in Wiltshire. The ancient stone circle here feels far less crowded than Stonehenge and you can actually walk amongst the stones, which makes it feel incredibly special.

Marlborough

A lovely market town filled with boutiques, coffee shops and traditional pubs, ideal for a relaxed lunch stop or a wander.

Shaftesbury

Famous for Gold Hill and its postcard-perfect views, Shaftesbury is absolutely worth the short drive if you love charming historic towns.

Stockbridge

A beautiful little village full of independent shops, cosy cafés and countryside charm. Perfect for a slow brunch or mooch around.

The Perfect Weekend Staycation From London

One of the biggest reasons we loved Liba Vineyard so much was simply how easy it was.

From South West London, it took us around an hour and a half to get there. That means you can leave after work on Friday, completely switch off for two nights in the countryside, and still be home Sunday evening ready for the week ahead.

It’s the kind of staycation that genuinely leaves you feeling refreshed rather than exhausted.

And sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

A cosy cabin in the woods. A fire pit. A hot tub slowly heating under the trees. Fresh coffee in the morning. Long countryside walks. Birdsong. Silence.

Simple things done really, really well.

Wiltshire completely surprised us, and Liba Vineyard ended up being one of those places we immediately started talking about returning to before we’d even left.
